The biggest change this week is that my appetite has increased like crazy, I just want food all the time. I'm tending to crave healthy food or filling foods that are generally high in carbs. I'm actually tending to steer clear of treats and sweet food (and even the leftover sweets we bought for trick or treaters this year haven't been touched by me).
My energy this week has been a little up and down. Some days I'm bursting with energy and others I just feel pretty drained. I'm curious to find out when I next have a blood test as to whether my iron levels are still low or whether the iron tablets have been helping. I also had by flue jab yesterday which gave me a dead arm but luckily no symptoms or side effects. I've had a few people ask me about the flu jab lately and whether it's 'worth it'. Ultimately it protect you against flu (and the complications it can cause during pregnancy) and also passes this protection onto baby to help them during their first weeks. I definitely think there's no harm in prevention. Here's a link for some more information - Flu vaccine in pregnancy.
When your trying to take a bump photo and you little one wants to join in...
Over the past few weeks, infact I'm sure it's closer to a month now, Indie hasn't actually used her pushchair and has been walking everywhere. She is really getting good with listening to what we say and holding ours hands near roads so we've decided we are going to get baby boy a single pushchair (the one below is front and rear facing) and then get Indie a buggy board for the back for when her legs get tired. We've decided on this pram as it has good reviews and quite a few people have recommended it. I also love the colour.
On Thursday we've got our 20 week anomaly scan and a consultant appointment afterwards which I'm really looking forward to. I still can't quite believe that next week we are already half way. I have been feeling loads of movements and the odd kicks and am looking forward to Indie and hubby being able to feel them too. As I type this I can feel him kicking away. The best feeling ever.
Your bump is so cute! My appetite is crazy at the moment too, I can't stop eating! x #maternitymondays

ReplyDeleteLovely bump! I'm keeping our travel system from Toby and not bothering with a double, I'm sure we'll manage just fine! Great to see you on #BlogBumpClub, I'm taking the linky over from Chelle for her maternity leave so I look forward to keeping up with your updates!xx
ReplyDeleteOh lovely photos of you and your daughter! I found the iron tablets made a massive difference to my energy levels so it's definitely worth mentioning to your midwife - you might need a higher dose.
ReplyDeleteOh I used to eat 6 times a day. Lots of carbs and had to have lots of protein (went through a phase where I ate quiche every day) but now I am at 28 weeks and have a MUCH smaller appetite, breathlessness and heartburn and am not eating nearly as much. In fact some days I worry if I am consuming enough calories.
ReplyDeleteThat buggy looks lovely and I love the pic of the two of you together.
