B ORGANIC SKINCARE - SOOTHING BALM REVIEW

A couple months ago I put my name down to review baby products for a company that specialises in organic skincare. Now, I don't go out of my way to buy organic products but because both my husband and I have very sensitive eczema prone skin, I always opt for the more natural side of skincare for our little girl.

The other day this arrived in the post and I've been giving it a try on both Indie and I. It is Body & Bottom Soothing Balm in Lavender and Chamomile scent and I've been using it for the odd nappy change on Indie and areas where she suffers with dry skin (usually her forehead and her toes). I've also been using it on my hands when they feel dry and I am very impressed with the results. Indie's dry skin is looking less red and flakey and seems to be clearing up (something that prescribed emollient Diprobase hasn't even been able to do).

The formula in the tub is very thick, almost grit like balm and I would compare it most closely to a solid oil or 'set honey' type of consistency. When it is warmed between the fingers like suggested, it melts into a very light oil that is both easy to apply and fast absorbing. It leaves a silky sheen on the skin and it not oily at all.

It is made of 100% Organic certified ingredients and the packaging promises calming and soothing effects from the Lavender, and anti-inflammatory effects from the Chamomile. It has a very light scent which smells very clean and natural, it's also available unscented for those who prefer it. Little one loves to help apply it and sniffs the pot when it's open.

A few of the ingredients include Shea Butter, Apricot Seed Oil, and Lavender and Rosehip Oil. Many of these have nourishing and regenerative properties which I think make it perfect for everyday use on dry skin areas and to alleviate nappy rash.

This is a product I was very happy to be sent. It retails for under £10 for 60ml of balm which I think is reasonable. As someone who has suffered from sensitive skin and Eczema for a very long time, I strongly believe that you can't really put a price on your health and comfort and I would be more than willing to buy this if it continued to soothe Indie's dry skin as it has been doing. I am going to continue using this myself as I find it works the same as the emollient cream that I was prescribed for my Eczema but it doesn't leave an oily residue on my skin.
